Charged

Maybe I was pickpocketed several times for twenty bucks apiece.

Little expenses -- the kind that might think too small to charge -- add up after a while. Especially after two weeks.

Adding up all those tiny amounts ... a Summation problem, I guess.

Yes, the Harmonic series shows us that summation of tiny amounts add up arbitrarily large. (It takes other series to demonstrate adding up fast though, as we saw with the recent discussion of Kempner Series.)

Flying to and from hotels are particularly good for flattening a wallet.

The flying was charged ... however, there was a large cash expense in trying to arrange a last-minute 24-hour car rental because a flight delay (and eventual cancellation).
