Did Chuck predict an early wedding?

Michele prevented Chuck from proposing to Judy on New Year's Eve because that was the night she and Ken got engaged, and she wanted Judy to have her own day. (Or she wanted to her own day to herself?)

In reality, if I don't get around to doing tis, I'll forget it for so long that we'll all just drop the plot line.

Final note: I put some work into the four new girls I made last month. No firm thoughts on what their names might be.

ObMath: The mean age of the guys should equal the mean age of the girls. And other mean stuff going on.

The dialogue for this comic was originally wordier, trying to get it where it needed to go (and even included, sort of, a reference to the above fact, giving their relative ages). Judy and Chuck have been together almost as long as Ken and Michele (possibly longer, but I'm only going by first mentions).

Stranger fact: even though Chuck has been mentioned a few times, I don't think he's appeared since comic #321 on the Fourth of July in 2009. NINE YEARS! He was supposed to be shown at the wedding, but I simplified that strip as much as I could, so none of the +1's were shown.

Well, about time now. Right?

They've been dating for ten years. They've been engaged for a year and half.

Despite my efforts (and lack of planning), I couldn't make this comic that ended in "00" or "50", although I applaud myself for the recent run of comics. I also wanted it for June, but June 30 was a brutally hot Saturday, and there was no way I could devote this much time to the strip. Sunday morning worked better, but it was July 1. It was a compromise.

I've postponed doing this because I dreaded a few things, like making a wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, bridesmaids, groomsmen, a Church, etc, etc. (By the way, as far as I'm concerned, they did have a Church wedding, but who wouldn't want wedding pictures by the gazebo in the background ... which then got mostly cropped out of the picture?) And all the guests!

So now we know Ken has at least two brothers, and Michele has a sister. Judy has enjoyed her enhanced status these past two years, even if her boyfriend Chuck isn't shown here. (Maybe he's afraid that Judy is getting ideas.) Sharon is out there somewhere as well.

Call me old-fashioned (or call Michele old-fashioned) but I've avoided story lines with Ken and Michele going away together, but that's not a problem any more.

Some things are necessary ... like this some of this week's strips, I suppose.

I've thought about doing After School or After Hours strips, but I was afraid that it would become a regular thing to do when I didn't have a math-based or geek-based joke. Next thing you know, I'm trying to do a "slice of life" / "soap opera" strip. Or at least, that's the fear.

Still, I may do more of these.
