Updated Tag: Crossover

I'm updating the use of a label, namely Crossover, which I originally used for a crossover with Irregular Webcomic. Actually, it was a strip that I had done that I had had permission for, but it wasn't part of IWC's official storyline. (It did wind up generating so much traffic, I had a new classroom example for what an outlier is.

Anyway, I'm expanding the use of this tag -- rather than create another one -- to include all parodies, satires and shout-outs to other webcomics as well as crossover. If this causes any confusion, let me know, and I'll create a different tag.

Happy Retirement, Jill. You've earned it.

The characters aren't meant to be avatars for real people, but I seriously considered morphing them for one cartoon just so they could say 'Good-bye'.

Graham's Number and the Ackermann Function

A good explanation of Graham's number and the Ackermann function can be found in the annotations below this comic strip.

It's written well enough that a guy like me could follow it.
Most of it.

Next up: The Doors' "When You're Strange"

Just a Gigolo goes back a lot farther than I thought it did, much earlier than the Louis Prima version, which was the first to combine it with I Aint Got Nobody.

Some find it hard to change their ways and integrate new technologies.

This cartoon reuses an old
Irregular Webcomic strip under the Creative Commons license. As such, this one strip is
created under that license.

Class Blog was a previous strip that was created under the same license.

And just to avoid confusion, although both of these strips are from IWC's Shakespeare theme, when they appear here, they are totally unrelated characters. Those particular strips lend themselves to a Teacher Center theme very nicely and they complement my (developing, but nonetheless lacking) artistic abilities.

The funny thing (or maybe it isn't) is that this was an actual conversation.
This father-son moment brought to you by (x, why?), reminding you of last year's Father-Son-Father-Son-etc moment.

Right now, there are many educators reading this and scratching their collective heads.
Given that Michele is an English teacher, I would hope that she'd at least have heard of Larry Niven.

Bro. Steve is among the school's honorees tonight for his many years of service
-- including three with me.

UPDATE: I found out this weekend from The Tablet that not only is Bro. Steve Keitzman, CFX, celebrating his 50th year as a Xaverian brother, but Bro. Warren Abel, CFX, my former vice principal (who took over the reins the year after I left) is celebrating his 60th year. Bro. Warren is now retired. Congratulations -- and thanks! -- to both of you.

Form follows function. And what do you call it when two functions fall along the same lines? Coincindence, of course.

EDIT: What Kind of Mexican Food Are You?

As I've said before (actually in a later post than this), I'm not one for all that blogsam/jetspam that creeps into blogs, but it fit the theme and I found it shortly after the strip was published, and it really fits the theme of the comic.

What? No copy of the home game?

That was the most famous (or at least well-known) zip code in the U.S., at least until a certain show about Beverly Hills came around.

This one's a day early, but I'll hopefully have something more appropriate for tomorrow. (Yes, I'm hoping for a Saturday update!)
