The Top 10 Blog Posts of 2009
by number of visits, as measured by Google Analytics.
This doesn't account for the number of times that people just clicked on the blog itself and read whatever was on the main page.
1. Top Taco
2. Bardic Geometry
3. How Cold Is It?
4. List of Pythagoeran Triples 3-50
5. Motivational Math Poster (*)
6. Fear
7. Oxymoron
8. St. Patrick's Day 2009
9. Fantasy Island
10. Sammy Davis, Jr., Mathematician.
(*) -- not my image. I found it and posted it.
For what it's worth, the following posts from 2008 outperformed some of the ones above in 2009. I don't know if that's because people are reading the archives, or they're finding links in Google or maybe hitting here through StumbleUpon or Digg.
Reflection over the X-axis (Number 1 overall), What's a Parabola?, Qwerty Smileys and Famous Movie Math Quotes #12 (there haven't been any others, so far), plus some monthly archives.
It's nice to see some non-cartoon stuff in the list.
Also, if a link is broken, please, let me know. Some of the older links are still pointing to geocities instead of my new storage site. I'm (slowly) working on it.

Somewhere out there, beyond the stars, beyond infinity itself ...
... there is an even bigger idiot.
As for the Graham's number and the Ackermann function, check out the commentary below this webcomic. He explains it better than I could.

News: Fixed comic; 8000+ hits
Two things:
First, the FOIL rap comic has been updated to fix an incorrect word that I hadn't noticed until after it had been posted. "Last terms next" should have been "Last terms now" for a better internal rhyme.
Second, I am amused by the choice of comics that people choose to Stumble. Yesterday, over 8000 people viewed Electron Day, Part 2 (not Part 1, mind you). I laughed at the comments if only so that I wouldn't cry. Those that liked it gave it a Thumbs Up and moved on. However, two who hated it said so in rather vivid terms. (And, of course, one used the word "fail", probably because he doesn't have a firm grasp of the English language yet.)

Want alt text? "Why don't you make like a stem, and leaf!"
Belle and Mr. Whiskers previously appeared here and here.
I was going to do a What's the 411? joke for the 411th comic, but then I thought, "Does anyone still say that?"
