Yeah, I know, too obscure. Read the annotations.

In a nutshell (because I couldn't find a decent, stable link), Kepler wrote a book with a title that translates as "Solid Geometry of Wine Barrels", and he has a wine-barrel problem named after him. I stumbled upon this recently (after starting this series, in fact) and thought that was better than actual showing (and creating) these mysterious Knights, who are too numerous to count (and actually aren't that important to the story, such as it is).

EDIT: The explosion is a black-and-white version of a picture I took of a fireworks display.

I couldn't get away from the Donatello/Raphael line.
Couldn't get away from the "plot", either. Lord, help me.

Interestingly, (if you're me, that is), this part, 13/8, is the 13th Trigonometry Jones strip.
No, that doesn't mean anything at all.

Denominators are the opposite of numerators ... natural candidates for the Innumerati.

Who could have guessed that Da Vinci was part of a secret conspiracy and that there
was some kind of code hidden is his work. Never saw that one coming, did ya?

It's not what you say, but what they hear that usually seems to matter most.

I had to dispense with the Fibonacci motif for this comic. It was stretching the series too far.

Now, I don't know if part 3/2 should have come before part 2/1 or not ...
Things that make you go, "what the heck is he talking about?"

I was going to add 13 snakes, but then he'd have to run 21 miles home. And he wouldn't understand until he was 34.

Yes, it's part 1/1. But it's still to be continued...

Now that many years have passed, I should probably put this list on every episode in the series:
1/1, 2/1, 3/2, 5/3, 8/5, 13/8, 21/13, 34/21, 55/34, 89/55, 144/89, 233/144, 377/233, 610/377. 1.618033988749894848204586....

I've discovered that it's okay to rip off other comics, as long as there your own comics, and you're taking it one step more.

Actually, it's a sequel to this comic. Yeah, that's it! A sequel!

In some workplace arguments, the only winner is the guy who runs away.

This might be considered biting the hand that feeds me, but only if
a) there actually are three guys in a coffee shop reading this, and
b) they're feeding me.

Now on Facebook

Yes, this blog has a Facebook account.
Why? Seemed like the thing to do, or so I was told. Mostly, it'll feature announcements when the new cartoons are up, kind of like you see here or at http://xwhy.comicgenesis.com.

The URL is: http://www.facebook.com/mrburkemath

It's been running for a week now, but I was only able to set the username today.

EDIT: By the way, if you've linked to any of the cartoons on your Facebook page, this is the place to let me (and everyone else) know about it.
(Actually, this was part of the reason for the Facebook page in the first place -- I wanted to see what someone had posted.)
