If anyone can recommend a good comic hosting site, I'd like to know because I'm getting sick of the problems with the comic updates.

Fibonacci Thanksgiving update

While ideas sometimes come to me based on real life, none of the events that happen within should be construed as actually having taken place in any way and the characters don't represent any particular people that I either work with, am related to, or even just know.

That said, it was somewhat amusing to be over for chips & dip and cheese & crackers at 2:00, waiting for the appetizers at 3:00, having dinner at 5:00, and after the clean-up, settling down for dessert at 8:00.

However, we left long before 13:00 (which would be 1:00, so I guess the sequence would have to start over again.)

Somehow these things seem to spiral out of control.

Of course, "out of control" is a relative term.

A Thanksgiving Tradition

Funny how some traditions fade away ... I can't believe that everyone doesn't still watch that show.

Happy Birthday, Thing One

Just in case I get busy and forget to call: Happy Birthday, Tom.

So does completing a pie chart mean coming full circle?

Tom and Jerry don't mention it...

W00t

(C)Copyright 2008, C. Burke. All rights reserved.

Today's comic is brought to you by the letter W and the number 0.

Actually, by the number 40 also, because that's Ronald Reagan hiding behind the word balloon.

So where's the second '0' and the 'T' in W00t?
Well, those two SS agents are working overtime. Okay?

Deja Vu

(C)Copyright 2008, C. Burke. All rights reserved.

A recent discussion in the forums at Irregular Webcomic
brought out the fact that although some images look similar, David Morgan-Mar has never cheated by re-using the same panels from previous strips (and he has made well over 2,000 strips!).

That got me thinking: I have re-used elements from this strip from time to time, but at least I put new work into every panel (and not just the word balloons). I haven't reused any old panels.

And then I realized that I actually had an old unused strip, so technically, I still haven't. (Actually, I think I put more effort into updating this panel that I did when I created it in the first place!)

Of course, on the other end of the spectrum, there's Dinosaur Comics, which has run for over five years and the joke hasn't gotten old.

Not to contradict Kenny, above, but I have to go with what the Barenaked Ladies have said,

"It's all been done before."

The Odd Couple

The TV series has never been off the air since its original 1970-75 run.
The quote, however, is based on one from the
movie, which makes Fivex a bit of a Lemmon.

Only three more years until 11/11/11.
Granted, 11/11/18 will be the more important date as it will be 100 years from the end of the war to end all wars. Mark it on your calendars.

Tangled!

A Post-Halloween Extra
(C)Copyright 2008, C. Burke. All rights reserved.
Somewhere in a box in my basement, or in a collection that my mother kept, there is a hand-drawn original of this comic that, I think, dates to my early college Dungeons & Dragons days. (The DM liked spiders.) I remember my buddies telling me that I should submit it to Dragon magazine, but I never did.
