Trigonometry Jones and the Temple of Duran: the final trailer

That Trigger. What a wild boy.

When I started this sequence of cartoons, I originally intended for the second Trigonometry Jones "movie" to be "The Triangle of Doom", but when I worked out the jokes, particularly with the snakes striking and having a union, the whole 80s Duran Duran theme sprung out of my head.

Please Stand By

Today's the first deadline I've missed since I moved to an every-other-day schedule. (I was going every three days before that.)

Hopefully, there will be a cartoon here later today. Tomorrow at the latest.
Thanks for stopping by, and come by again.

84.289 degrees is as close as you'll get without going over 10
Of course, 84 degrees isn't really beach weather unless it's really humid.

Dateline New York: We Have a Horse Race!

The news is in from New York today and we have a horse race!
Yes, it is true. Hillary Clinton has finally conceded the presidential race to Senators Obama and McCain. Who will win that race is anybody's guess.

Of course, with only two people in the race, odds are that about half of the prognosticators will eventually turn out to be correct, even if they have no clue what they're talking about at the current moment.

The one place where we won't have a horse race in New York today appears to be at Belmont. Statistics say that Triple Crown winners are unlikely: it's been about 30 years and many have come close and fallen short. But here's another statistic: horses that start the Kentucky Derby at position 20 don't usually win, let alone finish a few lengths ahead of the pack!

On top of this, the main competition in the Belmont Stakes has been scratched. So instead of getting a bruising Clinton-Guiliani Senate battle, we're more likely to see a lame Clinton-Lazio contest with the winner coasting to victory.

The last Triple Crown winner paid 60 cents on the dollar. Big Brown will pay (currently) 25 cents on the dollar. That's a big favorite. Granted, as Hillary could tell you, anything could happen in June. But, it's not likely, and that's not what the competition is looking for.

So there's a race in New York today, but it looks like a race to place. Wheel the exacta. (And if you don't know what that means, that's okay. I'm not too sure I have that right, either. But that's what I've heard.)

Go Big Brown.

New cartoon tomorrow.
